I can not believe that this is the title of this post. I am investigating my friend for, what is starting to look like, murder while I am investigating the murder of my other friend's daughter. Talk about awkward. Katie Marcus, my childhood friend Jimmy's daughter, winds up battered, beaten and dead in Pen Park. That same night, before she gets murdered, she's at a bar getting trashed with her friends. While she's there, my other childhood friend, Dave Boyle, is there having a few drinks. My buddy, a fellow Detective/State Police Homicide Sergeant, Whitey and I head out to go to talk to Boyle and I can not believe what he may have done. I mean, I am in denial and do not want to fathom what he did. He's got a swelled knuckle on a bruised hand. Not only that, but his car has a dent in it. I mean, I am trying to keep on open mind but all of these things are pointing to him. Yet, we are missing one thing, and I know it. Dave was molested by two child rapists for four days as a child. A murder committed by someone of sexual abuse would generally mean that if they commit murder then it would have a sexual component. Katie Marcus’ murder had no obvious sexual component to it. CSS found nothing with DNA on it. Basically, I’m caught between a lot of circumstantial evidence evidence pointing to Dave and something that screams he could not have done it, the lack of a sexual component in the murder. Whitey and I need to keep investigating. This case is nowhere close to cleared.
