This is what I used to do prior to working homicides. These are some of my buddies.

Jimmy Marcus is a cocky sack of shit
At this point, Whitey and I have cracked the case. Two kids bumped off Katie Marcus. Dave beat the hell out of, and killed, a guy having sex with a child-aged prostitute. Both of these - awful crimes. I knew that this was a lose-lose situation but it gets better. Whitey and I go to charge Boyle and he is nowhere to be found. Nobody knows where the hell he is, we literally cannot round up this guy. Why? Dave Boyle is dead. Whitey and I have no proof of that, but I have strong reason to know Dave is dead and I feel confident about who is responsible: Jimmy Marcus. Jimmy thought that Dave Boyle killed his daughter. He saw Dave's swollen hand, knew how Katie was beaten and saw the dent in his car. All Jimmy had to do was put all those things together, add a bit of rage over the death of his daughter, plus throw in some emotions over wanting closure, and then he had reason to believe Dave killed his daughter. So, ex-con Jimmy goes ahead and kills this guy. He leaves him never to be found again. I will find Dave Boyle though. Celeste needs me to find Dave; she too knows that Jimmy killed Dave. Celeste told me "He [Jimmy Marcus] killed my husband." When I gestured at Jimmy about it, he smiled. He is a cocky, guiltless son of a bitch, who has murdered two people. Neither of whom killed his daughter. I promised Celeste I would prove he killed Dave and I will follow through on my word. Marcus belongs back in prison and I'll be sure to get him there.
Wife's a beach...seriously, she could be on the beach
“Well, yeah. The title is accurate. The first part is a pun, but that's because I found a sense of humor for once. My relationship is not going over too well. My wife, Lauren, is still legally my wife but our relationship is on the rocks. She and I haven't seen each other for quite some time. Though, let me be clear, I still love her. Our relationship right now is "Weird as shit" according to Whitey. Whenever I am on the phone with her, she is on the line but does not speak. I speak to her and there is no response yet, I am positive that she is there and she is listening. This case really took a toll on me but my marriage is important.” All of that is what I would have sounded like a few weeks ago. Now, the case has been closed and my marriage has reopened. Lauren and I are talking. We are working things out. I love her. We are now at a point, where we used to be, a point when I could call her and she would pick up and she would respond. My gratitude for hearing her voice is beyond what it ever was before. Things are really working out. Plus, it is much better when a conversation is more than just me talking. Lauren and I, we have a long way to go but having her respond to me, after months of her not responding to me, made me realize that my marriage with Lauren is something worth saving. I love Lauren.

Whitey.
I've got a lot to say about Whitey. After all, I see him basically everyday. There isn't much I don't know about him. Since we see each other every day, I have some very harsh and well educated opinions on him. Looking at Whitey as another man, he is manly. Whitey is a stereotypical macho man. He is the Bear Grylls of Massachusetts. Not only that, but he doesn't get emotional and rarely cries. Nothing phases him and there is not situation that is too tough for him. When that kid, Johnny O'Shea, pulled a gun on me, Whitey wasn't phased. Whitey had no problem shooting him. White is a badass. But, he's also a unhealthy badass. Whitey drinks frequently. He's shown up to the office many times wreaking of booze. At this point, I'm used to it. Yet, when looking at the detective/crime solving side of Sergeant Whitey Powers, it is nothing short of impressive. He's cracked countless cases. He can just tell when people are lying and he sure as hell knows when to intimidate, and the right type of intimidation to use on, suspects. When they put the two of us together, we make an unstoppable team that no criminal would want to come across.
Here is a picture of Whitey at home, resting from a long day on the job.
